Q. What type of equipment do you use?
A. We use Sony High Definition (HD) digital cameras. We have professional level Samson wireless microphones, and Sennheiser boom microphones. We use Sony mini digital videotapes.
Q. Will you be shooting and editing the video or will someone else be?
A. We have 5 videographers on our staff. We have had very little turnover of videographers in the last 10 years, which we are very proud of. We match a videographer based on the personality of the bridal couple, the locations of the ceremony and reception, and the preference of the couple.
Q. How much is it for duplicate tapes for family members and friends?
A. We customize our bookings so that bridal couples usually have enough DVD copies for the most important people in their lives. Additional copies are typically $90 each, or less depending on how many you want. VHS tapes are free if requested.
Q. Do you have package prices? If so, what are they?
A. We do have all-inclusive pricing, so each presentation we offer includes filming on the wedding day, and editing of a creative and elegant 40-minute “Wedding Day Movie” on DVD. We also include the Original, Unedited Footage at no charge. Our average booking ranges from $1900-$2700 for ceremony and reception coverage. Other additions like love story interviews and baby photo montage videos are included in some of the presentation options.
Q. What is the fee to have a second videographer there shooting for the ceremony and for the reception?
A. Our style is a non-obtrusive, videojournalistic style. We send out one Videographer, and two cameras, on every job regardless of size of the event and timeframe. This is a conscious choice on our part because our belief is that it is the experience, skill and creativity of the professional that makes a video great, not the number of cameras or the number of videographers. The other factor to consider here is the quality of the equipment being used. We also believe this helps tremendously in working well with the photographer, keeping a low profile, being candid in style, and virtually invisible on location.
Q. What type of approach do you take when filming weddings? (unobtrusive, interviews, etc.)
A. Our approach is videojournalistic. We want to flow with the action of the day while capturing all of the candid moments that are happening. We try to match the personality of the bridal couple as well with our approach. Some want to be more interactive and fun, while others want us to be completely unnoticed. We will match our interaction with the client’s personalities and desires.
Q. Do you have a sample video you can send me?
A. Absolutely! We would love to send you our DVD demo. You can call our studio at 612.210.8904, or fill out the form on the contact page and we'll send you one.
Q. What is your philosophy of filming weddings?
A. We strongly believe in the long-term value of capturing the excitement, emotion, beauty, and tradition of the wedding day on video. On each and every video, we are aiming to create a beautiful, creative, and unique wedding day movie that will remind the bridal couple 10, 30, 50 years from now, all the reasons they fell in love, and how special their wedding day was. We want to exceed our clients expectations, and when they sit down to watch their video for the very first time, we want them laughing and crying within the first 5 minutes, or we haven’t done our job.
